About Ed Gray

My name is Ed Gray and I am running for re-election to the Apex Town Council. I am a Father, a Veteran with operational tours overseas, lawyer for small businesses, a former Federal Prosecutor, a Federal Defense Attorney, an HBCU graduate, and I am running for the Apex Town Council. I grew up all over the United States as the son of an Air Force officer, I was instilled with the values of integrity, ethics, respect for our fellow Americans, and a responsibility to make our country and our communities the best they can be. Those values instilled in me from a young age lead me to a life of service.

Ed's Positions

Community Initiatives

Apex is known for its festivals, parks and greenways.  They create community by giving us places to gather, socialize, play and learn.  They give us a chance to share our cultures,  and identities.  Ed is dedicated to ensuring that these community resources stay a part of our community.  Ed fought hard to ensure that our Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department was properly funded to ensure that everyone can enjoy all of the things Apex has to offer.  From newly opened Pleasant Park to our brand new  street hockey rink at Apex Community Park - these spaces make Apex the Peak of GREAT living.

Safe and Vibrant Communities

On June 8, Councilman Gray passed for the third consecutive budget an increased in the number of public safety officers in its ranks.  It also increased the pay and benefits that these officers receive so we can recruit and, most importantly, retain the best trained officers in the state.  Included in this years budget are additional School Resource Officers (SROs) to ensure our schools stay safe!

Ed also successfully secured funds for a firearms safety initiative into the 25-26 Budget to help residents who want to ensure that they have safe and secure methods to maintain their firearms.

Affordable Housing
